# Linking to the Web Map

These endpoints link to webpages on `map.navigatormap.org`. Use them to deep-link into the Navigator web map or its report pages.

## Web map — Countries mode

```http
GET https://map.navigatormap.org/countries
```

Opens the web map in 'Countries' viewing mode with country-level summary stats for the country that intersects the supplied coordinates.

| Parameter | Required? | Type   | Description                     |
| --------- | --------- | ------ | ------------------------------- |
| `lat`     | Required  | double | Latitude (WGS84).               |
| `lng`     | Required  | double | Longitude (WGS84).              |
| `pin`     | Required  | —      | Drops a pin at the coordinates. |

**Example**

```http
GET /countries?lat=39.4255858195144&lng=-70.31250000000001&pin
```

## Web map — Area mode

```http
GET https://map.navigatormap.org/areas
```

Opens the web map in 'Area' viewing mode with a list of areas that intersect the supplied coordinates.

| Parameter | Required? | Type   | Description                     |
| --------- | --------- | ------ | ------------------------------- |
| `lat`     | Required  | double | Latitude (WGS84).               |
| `lng`     | Required  | double | Longitude (WGS84).              |
| `pin`     | Required  | —      | Drops a pin at the coordinates. |

**Example**

```http
GET /areas?z=3&lat=39.4255858195144&lng=-70.31250000000001&pin
```

## Web map — Restrictions mode

```http
GET https://map.navigatormap.org/restrictions
```

Opens the web map in 'Restrictions' viewing mode showing maximum fishing and marine-activity restrictions from all sites that intersect the supplied coordinates.

| Parameter | Required? | Type   | Description                     |
| --------- | --------- | ------ | ------------------------------- |
| `lat`     | Required  | double | Latitude (WGS84).               |
| `lng`     | Required  | double | Longitude (WGS84).              |
| `pin`     | Required  | —      | Drops a pin at the coordinates. |

**Example**

```http
GET /restrictions?lat=39.4255858195144&lng=-70.31250000000001&pin
```

## Country / region report page

```http
GET https://map.navigatormap.org/countries
```

Opens the report page for a country or region, identified by name.

| Parameter            | Required? | Type   | Description             |
| -------------------- | --------- | ------ | ----------------------- |
| `name` (URL-encoded) | Required  | string | Country or region name. |

**Example**

```http
GET /countries/Brazil
```

## Area report page

```http
GET https://map.navigatormap.org/site-detail
```

Opens the report page for an area, identified by `site_id` or `ps_id`.

| Parameter            | Required? | Type                                | Description                                                                             |
| -------------------- | --------- | ----------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `site_id` or `ps_id` | Required  | `site_id`: integer, `ps_id`: string | The site identifier. `site_id` takes an `ogc_fid` value; `ps_id` takes a `ps_id` value. |

**Example**

```http
GET /site-detail?ps_id=AICAN30
GET /site-detail?site_id=32415
```

The `site_id` parameter takes an **`ogc_fid`** value, not a `ps_id`. The name is retained for backward compatibility with existing links and is unrelated to the `site_id` key formerly returned by the Search API, which was removed on 2026-09-03.

Prefer `ps_id` for links you intend to keep. `ogc_fid` values are not stable across site versions — a site that receives a `site_major_version` bump is assigned a new `ogc_fid`, and a link built on the old value will no longer resolve.
